The Seven Deadly Sins-Nanatsu no Taizai is a shÅnen manga written and designed by Nakaba Suzuki, serialized in KÅdansha's Weekly ShÅnen magazine dated October 10, 2012. The Seven Deadly Sins were a group of seven knights, considered the strongest in the region of Great Britain, each of whom represented one of the seven deadly sins, due to a fault they had committed in the past. However, the group disbanded after apparently plotting to overthrow the kingdom of the Lioness, killing the then Great Holy Knight, Zaratras. His supposed defeat occurred at the hands of the kingdom's holy knights. The seven were scattered and given a bounty, but as time passed, rumors began to spread that these seven legendary warriors were actually still alive. Ten years later, the Holy Knights stage a coup by capturing the king, thus becoming the new tyrannical rulers of the country. Elizabeth, the king's youngest daughter, has no choice but to escape from the royal castle and go in search of the Seven Deadly Sins, hoping that they are still alive and willing to help her.
