What's Legend of Zelda?
Legend of Zelda is a group of mangas, videogames, animes which tell the heroic adventures of Link, its main character, who fights against Ganondorf in order to save the Pirncess Zelda and his Kingdom Hyrule.
The videogame was launched in 1986, created by Shigeru Miyamoto with the collaboration of Takashi Tezuka and developed by Nintendo. Immediately it was a successful videogame and became one of the most important in the industry.
We can classify it as a High Fantasy videogame, given that it has features from adventure, acction and jigsaw puzzles' videogames. In 1989 The Legend of Zelda TV series was launched in the USA, it has 13 episodes which were broadcasted at the same time that Super Mario TV Series. In some scenes we can find references to The Legend of Zelda videogame but also to Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
In 2010 was published in Japan "Ocarina of Time Manga" which contains many references to Legend of Zelda.
A manga divided in two parts: Child Saga (six chapters) and Adult Sga (nine chapters).
Link has a main weapon (a sword) and a shield to defend himself from his enemies.
- Master Sword: It's the main wepaon used by Link during his adventures. Most of the times Link handles it with his left hand.
- Hylian Shield: It's one of the most recognizable items of Link, usually carries it next to his sword.
