The anatomy of an armor

Superior Protection

The helmet, the crown of all armour, protected the warrior's head while the gorget guarded the vulnerable neck. The shoulders were protected by the pauldrons, while the arms were covered by vambraces and elbow guards. The hands, vital for combat, were protected by finely articulated gauntlets and gauntlets.

Torso protection
