Our bellows helmet proves to be a very convenient helmet offering an interesting combination of excellent visibility and good protection.
This style of sallet is much longer than the classic German or Italian medieval sallet and therefore offered substantial protection to the neck and allowed the rider to wear it without bevor if desired. Historically, we think it was used by light and medium cavalry who needed a more comfortable helmet than the heavy weaponry used by knights.
