One-handed sword for HEMA, first generation LUCTATIO design
One-handed sword for HEMA, design by the French group LUCTATIO. This sword was specifically designed for learning sword and shield fencing according to Fight Book One Thirty-Three I.33. Its general characteristics (total length, blade length, weight) are very close to the authentic selected Type XII, XIII, XIV, XV and XVI swords kept in museums. The length of the blade is the length of the arm from the armpit to the tip of the middle finger, since the weight must be kept below one kilogram and the location of the center of gravity is 12 cm from the guard.
It is not a combat sword like a feder, but it is quite suitable for reduced speed combat.
As the request and most of the specifications come from the French club HEMA practitioners, 'Luctatio' is called the 'first generation Luctatio sword'.
