Bollock German dagger with leather sheath, 15th century. This beautiful dagger from the late Middle Ages is based on an original dagger from the early 15th century. piece of germany This particular type of dagger, known as a bollock dagger, ballock dagger or kidney dagger, owes its rather peculiar name to the characteristic shape of its hilt which ends at the guard with two distinctive spherical/ovoid lobes or protrusions.
This reproduction features a single-edged, unsharpened steel blade that tapers evenly from the guard to a sharp point. The octagonal hilt is carved from a single piece of wood and the flat steel pommel is adorned with a decorative brass plate.
The dagger comes complete with a hand dyed, vegetable tanned leather sheath fitted with a brass overlay and a belt loop. Shade of brown may vary slightly from piece to piece due to hand dyeing.
Please note that as the blade has a sharp point, this dagger is intended as a decoration or collector's item and is not suitable for combat re-enactment!
