Functional medieval basin in steel with German visor, year 1370. Made of 2mm steel. thick and fitted with a riveted face shield. Equipped inside with an adjustable padded lining made of cotton fabric as well as a brown leather strap with chin buckles.
The bascinet or bacinete emerged at the beginning of the 14th century. It evolved from the so-called beer hall or secret helmet (a simple cap) and remained a popular helmet well into the 15th century throughout Central Europe.
