Hand painted Viking Shield with Beast, 61 cm. EITHER

Viking round shield with exciting beast motif, hand painted, 61 cm Ø. The beautiful Viking shield that we offer here is made of approx. 13mm thick plywood and adorned with a hand painted Norse dragon or prehensile beast, a recurring motif in Viking art. It could also be a representation of the so-called Midgard Serpent.

At its center, the shield features an oversized steel bulge that is held firmly in place with four rivets and leaves enough room to accommodate even the strongest of Viking hands. The edge of the shield is reinforced with metal, and the back is equipped with a solid wood handle.

Although this early medieval wooden shield may be a bit too light and thin for full contact, it is still a great prop for re-enactment, LARP, stage or TV/film and will make your transformation into a proud Norse warrior simply perfect. In addition, it is also a nice collector's or display piece for all Viking Age enthusiasts.
