Elaborate sword of Solomon. The blade, cross and pommel have inlaid gold details. Solomon, King of Israel (SX BC), was the second son of Urias's wife, Bathsheba, whom his father, David, had taken as his wife.
It is one of the most spectacular swords in the History of Spain. This is the mythical sword with which the Kings Fernando and Isabel named Christopher Columbus a knight, after he returned from his first trip to America.
In the throne room of the Royal Palace of Barcelona, Columbus was named "Admiral of the Ocean" and "Viceroy of the Indies".
This sword called "ceremony" was used as "Standard Bearer" in all religious ceremonies or significant public events of his reign, such as the Conquest of Granada and the beginning of Spain as a Nation.
