Roman Lorica Squamata (100-250 AD)

Lorica Squamata of Roman scales. High quality replica of a Roman scale armor. This typical armor of Roman Imperial cavalry consists of multiple brass scales, similar to fish scales, which are sewn onto a solid leather and canvas vest and intertwined with wire on the longitudinal sides. This construction pattern should prevent the opponent's blades from going through the metal plates.

The shape, size and also the material of the scales were very different. In Carnuntum, the capital of the Roman province of Pannonia, more than 30 different forms and types of this type of armor have been found. Our scale armor is the shortened version, which was worn between 100 and 250 AD

The Lorica Squamata comes with leather straps on the side and on the neck.
