Solomon is a character described in the Bible, the third and last king of Israel unified (including the kingdom of Judah). He managed to reign forty and his reign would be located between 970 and 930 a. C.
Solomon was the second of the children born to King David and Bathsheba. In the Bible, the prophet Nathan tells David that God has ordained death to her first child as punishment for the sin of the king, who had sent death to Uriah, Bathsheba's husband, to marry his wife. After a week of prayer and fasting, David heard the news of the death of his son and 'comforted' Bathsheba, who immediately became pregnant, this time of Solomon.
