What's LARP?
LARP is the acronym of "Live Action Role Playing". The LARP is a live role game is based in the representation of different characters (by the players) in real time and in a scenographic way, usually using proper clothes and objects such as ancient dresses and inoffensive weapons reproductions.
Difference between board role game and LARP
In the board role games the players sit around a table and play their characters in an only oral form. In the LARP the players make the characters doing actions in real time and they usually prepare these events in a very accurate way. That's why, in the board role games the history takes only form in the imagination of the players but in the LARP the live action make it comes true.
When did LARP begun?
It seems that the first events begun in the 70's, inspired by the board role games.
How many players are there in a LARP game?
In a game there are between few players and thousands. These events can be organized in public spaces and private ones.
How much is LARP during?
LARP can last few hours or few days. The game is only paused to have lunch and dinner, sleep or rest.
Which materials are the LARP weapons made of?
Usually the LARP weapons are made of: foam rubber, rubber, latex and glass fiber.
