Felipe II of Austria (or Hapsburg), called the Wise (Valladolid, May 21, 1527 - El Escorial, 13 September 1598) was King of Spain from 15 January 1556 until his death, Naples and Sicily since 1554 and Portugal and the Algarves (as Philip I) since 1580, making a long-awaited dynastic union with Portugal, which lasted 60 years. He also was King of England for his marriage to Mary I, between 1554 and 1558.
