Saxon Sword with Scabbard for one hand based on the originals preserved from the 5th and 6th centuries. AD. A classic example of a Germanic weapon from the Middle Ages. It features a wooden handle, a short, sturdy guard, a generously sized pommel, and a wide, straight, double-edged EN45 tempered steel blade.

The edges are not sharp and the full tang of the blade is threaded into the pommel. Like many originals from this period, the pommel is made up of several riveted parts. The same three-part design, consisting of a wood interlayer 'sandwiched' between two cast brass elements, was also used for the guard and creates beautiful contrasting accents. This decorative sword comes complete with a black wood and leather scabbard with brass collar and fittings.

This sword is not a Battle Ready weapon. It is intended as a collector's item or decoration/display item and is not suitable for combat re-enactment.
