Arbedo Sword, Signature Collection by Windlass

We present the Arbedo Sword, a gem from Windlass's Signature Collection, inspired by the historic Battle of Arbedo in 1422. This redesign stands out for its technical improvements and authenticity, achieving a swift and effective sword, ideal for both display and recreational combat.

The high-carbon steel blade has been optimized with a distal tapered profile, making it remarkably faster and easier to handle. Thanks to its balanced design, you will have complete control over every movement, allowing you to respond quickly. The grip, wrapped in leather through a historical 'wet-wrap' process, offers a unique texture that enhances grip and comfort, whether used with one or two hands.

The steel pommel and guard provide solidity and durability, ensuring that this sword is not only visually striking but also functional. Additionally, it comes with a leather sheath with a wooden core, reinforcing its authentic medieval style.

Ideal for collectors and history enthusiasts, this sword is a tribute to the warriors of the Battle of Arbedo and to the works of the legendary Ewart Oakeshott.

Good feel in hand, balanced, the construction is of a functional sword, with the tang riveted to the pommel, good sharpening (careful) and point. The pommel finish looks handmade, imperfect, which for me is a plus. A good example of an Oakshot XVIIIa.4. The grip is short, exactly the same as the sword it is based on in the MET, halfway between a one-handed and a long sword.
