This helmet is a magnificent reconstruction of the famous 11th century Czech Olmutz helmet, also known as the Moravian nose helmet. Designed to offer maximum protection during battle re-enactments, this version of the helmet is especially large to allow the use of a padded cap and/or chainmail coif underneath, as was common at the time.

The hull is made of 2mm thick steel plates, welded together in the middle to ensure strength. In addition, the nose piece has been hammered from 5mm steel bands and also welded to the helmet, giving an extra strong nose section that offers excellent protection. The lower edge of the nose has been rounded for greater comfort.
