English Knight's Long Sword, early 15th century

Discover the 15th century English knight's long sword! This stunning reproduction is a faithful recreation of a historic sword that was found in the River Thames before becoming part of the Tower of London's prestigious collection.

What makes this replica truly special is its high-quality manufacturing. The blade of the sword has been hand forged by expert swordsmiths using superior 1080 high carbon steel. In addition, it has been completely tempered and has a distal taper for perfect weight distribution.

The scabbard of the sword has been designed to faithfully replicate the scabbards of the period. It is made of wood and covered in leather, with a tip reinforced with a brass ferrule. Additionally, the leather extends up and covers part of the guard, providing an authentic detail.

The blade of this sword is divided into three sections: a first dull section at the ricasso near the guard, followed by a hexagonal cross section and finally a flat diamond-shaped cutting tip. Despite its narrow appearance, this sword strikes with authority thanks to its astonishingly thick spine, making it ideal for punching and thrusting through an enemy knight's mail armor.

The 15th century English knight's long sword includes a certificate of authenticity . Additionally, for care and maintenance, Windlass Classic Wax and a polishing cloth are also included. All this to ensure that your sword remains in perfect condition for years.

Don't wait any longer and purchase this magnificent sword manufactured by Windlass Steelcrafts®, a brand recognized for its dedication to quality and authenticity in the manufacture of historical replicas.

This hand-and-a-half sword, often carried by knights and men-at-arms, dates to around 1400-1430, and features a two-handed hilt with a scent-stopper pommel. The rigid and extremely sharp blade ends in a fine but strong point. This sword was used with one or two hands, depending on the circumstances.

In armed combat, the blade could also be wielded as a half-sword, to better drive the point into the holes of the armored enemy, and also to use the cross-shaped guard and pommel in hand-to-hand combat. This is exactly the type of sword that many English knights would have carried at the Battle of Agincourt.
