Spanish rapiera sword with leather sheath. This reconstruction of a classic style Spanish arrow hilt rapier from the Renaissance has a narrow, double-edged EN45 spring steel blade with diamond cross-section and a pointed tip. The edges are not sharp and the full tang of the blade is threaded into the pommel. The complex and elegant sweeping hilt with S-shaped cross guard, bars and side rings is made of stainless steel, as is the pommel. The hilt is made up of a wooden core wrapped with braided steel wire.

Delivery includes a black stitched leather scabbard finished with a steel throat and cap.

Please note that this sword is not a battle ready weapon. It is intended as a collector's item or decoration/display item and is not suitable for combat re-enactment. In addition to its quality as a collectible, it is also perfectly suited as an accessory, e.g. to complete your costume.

The rapier first appeared around 1500 and remained the sword of choice for the European nobility and bourgeoisie until the late 17th century. Designed primarily as a thrusting weapon (but still quite efficient for slashing and slashing), this one-handed Renaissance sword, usually double-edged, with a long, thin blade and sharp point, was predominantly used by noblemen for military and civilian purposes. Generally equipped with a more or less elaborate basket, goblet or sweep hilt to improve hand protection on the battlefield or duel, it enjoyed great popularity in the most varied forms throughout Europe as a fencing, self-defense or dueling weapon. . and eventually became a status symbol and essential fashion accessory to any gentleman's or officer's attire.
