Medieval helmet, Kettle type, with cowhide chinstrap. This replica of an Italian helmet is forged in 1.6 mm thick steel. The original is dated around the year 1460. These helmets were not only worn in Italy, but were also very common in Switzerland and southern Germany, especially by infantry troops.
The wide brim not only protects the head but also the shoulders, chest and back from any danger from above, such as the arrow fire of medieval archery. The brim and crisscrossing steel bands are riveted to the hull bowl. The bowl is made of two parts that have been welded together in the center.
- Short distance (ear to ear): 17.5 cm.
- Long distance (front to neck): 21.5 cm.
