Medieval Crusader Great Helm, Pembridge style, 14th century

Great helmet (Pembridge style) dated to around 1370 AD The helmet comes with a comfortable adjustable leather liner and buckled chin strap.

This replica follows the hull of Sir Richard Pembridge's original, which is on display at the Royal Scottish Museum in Edinburgh. The 'Great Helmet' was often worn over a smaller, lighter helmet (for example, a secret helmet).

These helmets were common throughout Europe in the Middle Ages, and numerous contemporary images, miniatures, and originals found in Germany, Flanders, England, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, etc. prove the popularity of this type of helmet. They were used during the famous battles. de Crecy (1346) and Poitiers (1356).
