The look and cut of this hood or gugel is based on an archaeological find dated between the 10th and 12th centuries. In 1936, a fully clothed bog body was discovered on a farm in Skjoldehamn, Norway. It is not known if it was a woman or a man, it could not be clearly determined until today. Characteristic of the hood that sits on the body is the pointed hem with an inset square chest piece.
