Articulated Brass-Clad Hourglass Gauntlets

Medieval hourglass gauntlets covered in brass. These gauntlets are functional. They not only impress with their excellent workmanship and authentic appearance, but also with excellent wearing comfort: All finger joints are free to move and a soft leather glove is fully sewn on the inside.

The gauntlets are suitable for combat reenactment and stage fighting. They are made of approx. 1.6 mm thick steel. In addition, the steel parts are cleverly decorated and reinforced with sheet brass.

The original and very similar ones can be seen in the castle of Churburg, South Tyrol and were probably made around 1390 by a Milanese gunsmith.
