Medieval dagger for practice type Lansquenete

Medieval dagger for practice type Lansquenet with sheath. The Lansquenets were the notorious, mostly German, mercenaries of the late 15th/16th century. In addition to their main weapons (the pike and the so-called Katzbalger short sword), they often carried a dagger as a secondary weapon.

This handsome dagger from the late Middle Ages features a spring tempered steel blade that was tempered to a Rockwell hardness of approx. 48-50 HRC. It is full tang and has a generous sized fuller. The steel guard curves slightly towards the blade and is made up of three hawks with ball-shaped finials. The elegant wooden grip is topped with an equally elegant steel pommel. The beautiful vegetable-tanned leather sheath is equipped with a belt loop.

The blunt blade edges and rounded tip make this Landsknecht dagger ideal for combat re-enactment, stage fighting, or combat.
