In the original, this plate armor had been used between 130 and 280 AD It is the last version of plate armor used by Roman legionaries. In later times they returned to wear chain mail like Lorica Hamata. Unlike previous versions of Corbridge or Kalkriese, he cannot adjust Newstead's armor.

The Lorica Segmentata has been used by the Roman Legion for over 200 years. The first finds were in Kalkriese, Germany, and are supposed to come from the year 9 anno Domini.

The Newstead type is named after a village in southern Scotland where the Roman castra Trimontium was found. The remains of this camp set an example for our reconstruction.
