This fine reproduction is a faithful copy of a saber that was actually used. As befits its rank, this sword displays a high degree of ornamentation. The brass endpaper is decorated with hand-chiseled foliage and the inscription 'EE. USA' between the branches. The blade is etched with foliage, military trophies, 'US', 'E Pluribus Unum', and 'Iron Proof'. During the pre-war years, many Confederate officers, including General Robert E. Lee, carried this sword on campaigns in India.
