Armed sword with scabbard from Sankt Annen, 12th century. The one-handed sword we offer here is modeled after a 12th-century sword. original belonging to the collection of the St. Annen Museum in Lübeck, Germany.
Classified as an Oakeshott type XII, this one-handed, double-edged sword shows the typical characteristics of swords from the early Middle Ages. It has an EN45 carbon steel blade. The edges are not sharp and the full tang of the blade is riveted to the pommel. The hilt is made up of a steel crosspiece, a wood-core grip wrapped in brown leather, and a disc-shaped bronze pommel topped with a steel block.
This well-priced, decorative knightly sword comes complete with a light brown wood and leather scabbard to match the hilt sheath.
Please note that this medieval sword is not a battle ready weapon. It is intended as a collector's item or decoration/display item and is not suitable for combat re-enactment.
