Our impressive war hammer is directly inspired by an original, currently housed in the Wallace Collection in London. Dating back to the 15th century, this warhammer was in use at a time when the advent of plate armor made the knight's sword far less optimal for fighting a heavily armored opponent. That led to the widespread use of warhammers, not only among heavily armed knights but also among the infantry fighting against them.
