The Leatherneck®-SF Knife has a beautiful hand polished saber ground clip point blade. The Leathernecks® blade is coated in a non-reflective black powder coat. The handles are made of Kray-Ex ™ deeply. They offer unsurpassed gripping power through their palm-hugging oval cross section and unique finger channel. They are covered with a thick, machined steel butt cap (no cheap casting or plastic like others) so they can also double as a hammer in an emergency situation. Incl. Secure-Ex® sheath

To prevent fingers from slipping forward on its sharp edge, Leathernecks® come with a solid steel top guard. It is made of thick steel with double quillons that are turned slightly forward to provide excellent protection for your hand while offering minimal interference to the use of these knives when performing utility tasks.

The word Leatherneck has become synonymous with the famous US Marines since 1776, when Congress required all Marines to wear a tall, thick leather collar (known in the vernacular of the day as a stock). This necklace had two purposes: first, it helped to protect the neck from the blows of the sword and cutlass; second, it forced a Marine to hold his head up, displaying the military stance that was in vogue at the time.

It is to them that Cold Steel dedicates this series of hard, combat-ready fixed blades with two distinct and iconic blade styles, both of which have proven exceptionally popular with the United States military. Both are made of D2 tool steel. A tough, heavy-duty air-hardening tool steel that has good corrosion resistance, this steel has been used for decades by both mills and custom manufacturers to produce tough knives for outdoor and hunting use.

To safely and conveniently carry Leatherneck® knives in all environments, each comes with a rugged and versatile military-style Secure-Ex® sheath with fully detachable, ambidextrous belt loop.
