This Viking Age Short Saxophone Knife (also known as a broken back seax due to the particular shape of its blade) has a hand forged EN45 high carbon steel blade with a thick spine. The striking bone hilt is polished, artfully engraved and finished with a bolster and buttstock, both made of steel.

The Viking seax comes with a thick, vegetable-tanned leather sheath with antique brass fittings: buttress plates, rivets, and two dangling rings.

Please note that this Viking knife is intended primarily as a collector's item, decoration or accessory and is in no way suitable for combat re-enactment! The tip of the blade is not rounded and the cutting edge is not sharp, but slightly ground (approx. 1 mm thick).
