Viking sword Eigg island, S. IX-X

Discover the authentic Viking Sword of the Isle of Eigg, a legendary piece that will transport you to the exciting world of the Nordic warriors of the 9th-10th century. This sword has been carefully manufactured with an EN45 steel blade, which gives it greater hardness, temper and flexibility, making it an unstoppable combat tool.

The Viking Sword of the Isle of Eigg has a finely decorated cast bronze guard and pommel. Its handle is covered in leather, giving you a firm and secure grip during your battles. In addition, it is accompanied by a wooden scabbard also covered in leather, adorned with details on the tip.

Although the steel used in this sword is not rust proof, it is important to note that the slight tarnishing of its surface in some places is a sign of authenticity and adds a special charm to this Viking jewel. We recommend regular maintenance of the blade and sheath using Ballistol oil, an ideal product for steel care.

The Viking Sword of the Isle of Eigg stands out for its impressive thickness of 4 mm, its hilt length of 18 cm and its total length of 97 cm. Weighing 1650 grams, its blade is 79 cm long and 5 cm wide at the guard. These characteristics make it a perfectly balanced and manageable sword, ideal both for displaying in your collection and for emulating the deeds of the brave Viking warriors.

Do not miss the opportunity to acquire the Viking Sword of the Isle of Eigg and immerse yourself in a universe full of history and adventures. Join the ancient tradition of the Vikings and become a true warrior of the North. Gear up like them and unleash your mettle in battle!

This beautiful Viking sword is based on a silver inlaid bronze hilt excavated in 1830 on the Isle of Eigg, Scotland. Although some parts of the leaf were also found, these no longer survive. The original find is on display at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. Dating to the 9th or early 10th century, this finely crafted piece of Viking history is classified as a Type D under Petersen's Viking sword typology. As the blade from the original piece is missing, a classic Norse shape was chosen for this reconstruction, and this one-handed sword features some of the typical features of a traditional sword from the Middle Ages.
