Viking Sword Eigg Island, Damascus Steel

Immerse yourself in the authenticity of the Viking Age with the Eigg Island Viking Sword! This sword, made with a Damascus steel blade, will make you feel like a true Viking warrior, ready to face any challenge that comes your way.

The Damascus Steel used in the blade of this sword gives it greater hardness, temper and flexibility, which makes it an exceptional option for lovers of history and recreations. Its guard and pommel are made of cast and decorated bronze, adding a touch of elegance and style to this imposing weapon.

The leather-wrapped hilt of the Isle of Eigg Viking Sword ensures a firm and comfortable grip during your battles and adventures. In addition, it includes a leather-covered wooden scabbard with decorations on the tip, so you can transport and protect your sword in complete safety and style.

Please note that the Damascus Steel used is not rust proof and may show a slight tarnish on its surface in places. For this reason, we recommend you carry out regular maintenance on the blade and sheath, using, for example, Ballistol oil, ideal for steel care.

With impressive measurements, the Eigg Island Viking Sword stands out for its 97 cm length, a weight of 1700 grams and a 79 cm long blade. Its blade width in the guard is 5 cm and its thickness is 4 mm. These characteristics make it a perfectly balanced weapon ready to play a prominent role in all kinds of historical settings and re-enactments.

Immerse yourself in the Viking age, feel its energy and power with the Eigg Island Viking Sword. Don't wait any longer and add this magnificent sword to your collection!

This beautiful Viking sword is based on a silver inlaid bronze hilt excavated in 1830 on the Isle of Eigg, Scotland. Although some parts of the leaf were also found, these no longer survive. The original find is on display at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. Dating to the 9th or early 10th century, this finely crafted piece of Viking history is classified as a Type D under Petersen's Viking sword typology. As the blade from the original piece is missing, a classic Norse shape was chosen for this reconstruction, and this one-handed sword features some of the typical features of a traditional sword from the Middle Ages.
