This helmet is not an authentic reproduction of a historical example original, but rather an excellent piece of fantasy-inspired celtic, norse and norman. While its general form (bowl, cone, protector, nasal) is very reminiscent of the helmets normans early and high medieval, the eyebrows and the nose, distinctive in the shape of animals are modelled on patterns of celtic / nordic. Especially the snakes of knots or dragons are a recurring motif in celtic art and nordic / viking.
