The gown is always long and long-sleeved. The characteristic features of the dress of the Franciscan friars are the so-called cincture (a rope-like belt) tied around the waist and the hood (a hood that covers the shoulder and chest reminiscent of the gugel). This long monk hood in a classic style is made of strong cotton fabric (twill weave). The sleeves are loosely cut and the wide, round neckline makes it easy to slip the tunic over the head. The hood is generous in size. If required, it can be easily detached from the tunic with a seam ripper and worn separately. The rope is approx. 3.8 m long and ensures a perfect fit.
