Sword in one hand, S. XIV

Medieval sword of a hand of the FOURTEENTH century. This beautiful sword for a hand is a reproduction of a medieval sword that dates from around 1310 d. C. The sword was originally classified as a Type XVIII according to the typology of Oakeshott, and is on display in the Royal Armouries. The blade of this sword is carbon steel tempered to a hardness 49-51 HrC. The magnificent scabbard of the sword is made of leather dyed and tanned with vegetables, and is complete with a belt wrapped around it.
