Scottish sword Culloden S. XVI.
Scottish sword Culloden S. XVI of the Battlecry Collection of Windlass. It comes sharp. Our version of the Battlecry Collection is taken from a design that could have been seen at the Battle of Culloden in 1746. The blade is made of 1065 high-carbon steel, which has a darkened finish worn by the battle, as well as the accessories of the hilt.
HeWooden handle has been covered with fur and beautifully decorated with rolled yarn. The basket has a wool lining. This famous one-handed sword includes a matching leather case.
The sword with basket grip increased its popularity during the sixteenth century and its basic design is still used in many swords for parades. This particular type of design began to take hold during the English Civil War and during the following century finding many variations in regional styles, especially throughout the north of England and Scotland.
