These classified as Viking swords weapons have a morphological evolution as a thickening of the blade into his fist and progressive decrease towards the tip. They continue straight fight swords and double-edged. Its blade is not as sharp finishing in a point almost roma, indicating the priority of the pit in front of the stock. Roman swords are the predecessors of Viking swords that are heavier and larger weapons.

They are mainly swords attack with a short handle which limits its use to one hand. Viking sword is the most important in the evolution of this tool to the Middle Ages.
