Eglinton Scottish sword

The Scottish sword Eglinton, which comes with a basket hilt, is a replica of the mid-century VXIII of which a dozen examples are known. An example of this sword with this last feature, coming from Eglinton Castle, sponsor and host of the Eglinton tournament, is now in the Royal Ontario Museum. This sword has traditionally been identified by the portrait of an 18th-century Scottish officer entitled The Pinch of Snuff and attributed to William Delacour. It is characterized by a grip of authentic fur of ray, with rolled wire, with a complex basket type guard and a double channel leaf. Includes black sheath with matching collar and toe and belt fastening
