The surgery does not develop until the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. In the thirteenth century the most important studies of surgery are performed around Bologna, where a surgery school is created. The most important of the surgeons is Lanfranci Milan, who wrote a magna surgery, which is an encyclopedia of knowledge surgical until the thirteenth century.

ANDn the fourteenth century we have to move to France, where stood Henri de Mondeville (surgeon to Philip IV and descriptor of a new treatment for surgical wounds) and Guy de Chauliac (Guido de Chauliaco) (c. 1260-1368) which also makes a treaty that will be reprinted and used until the sixteenth century.
